Dr Katie de Luca

Katie De LucaDr de Luca is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Chiropractic at Macquarie University.  She received her PhD from the University of Newcastle in 2016. Her research interests lie in improving the understanding and delivery of healthcare for musculoskeletal conditions in older people. Katie has presented more than 50 times at regional, national and international conferences in the areas of gerontology, public health, pain and in chiropractic. She has 23 peer-reviewed publications, with a recent highlight then invitation for an editorial on Spinal Pain in the Elderly in the journal Best Practice & Research: Clinical Rheumatology.

Dr Mark Feldman

mark feldman 2018Born, raised and educated in New York, Mark has been a chiropractor for over 30 years.  Since migrating to Adelaide in 1997, the former Associate Professor at New York Chiropractic College has successfully managed a dual career in private practice and chiropractic education.  This unique skill set has earned him positions on editorial boards, peer-review committees and practitioner tribunals.

Professor Maria Fiatarone Singh

ProfSinghProf Maria Fiatarone Singh, MD, FRACP, a geriatrician, has held the inaugural John Sutton Chair of Exercise and Sport Science, Faculty of Health Sciences, and Professorship, Sydney Medical School since 1999. Her research, teaching and clinical career has focused on the integration of geriatric medicine, exercise, and nutrition to improve quality of life in older adults.

Professor Ian Harris

ProfIanHarrisImageProfessor Harris is an orthopaedic surgeon and academic based in Liverpool, Sydney. He is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at UNSW and has senior roles within the Australian Orthopaedic Association, the Agency for Clinical Innovation (NSW Health) and national arthroplasty and hip fracture registries. His research is clinical in nature, focussing on the effectiveness of surgery, incorporating systematic reviews, cohort studies and randomised trials.

Mr Mark Werman

Mark Werman Conf18After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant, Mark moved into the field of workplace relations and human resources over 25 years ago. In 1991 Mark was part of the establishment of the HR Consulting Division at BDO Chartered Accountants and Advisers and in 1992.

Mark completed his Master of Commerce Degree in Human Resources (UNSW).
